Local police announced yesterday that they
are planning to introduce a curfew scheme
during the school summer holiday period.
Under this scheme, anyone under the age of
sixteen will have to be home by 9 p.m.
According to the police, the aimof the scheme
is to cut the risk of teens becoming victims
of crime or becoming offenders themselves.
‘If we see teenagers on the streets after this
time, we’ll take them home,’ said PC Davis.
‘Most teenage crime takes place early in the
evening and this scheme will certainly help
to stop it. If it’s successful, we’ll introduce it
into other parts of the country.’
